Now that we are about to conclude the year 2019, it is a good time to look backwards and take note of what has been reached. Some basic statistics for the period 2011-2019 are summarized in the following table:

In short, in its first nine years of life, 154 authors from 25 countries have contributed to the 66 research papers published, under a basic principle: quality over quantity.
Authors affiliated to Spanish institutions account for 27.9% of the total, followed by Italy, Portugal, India, USA and Albania, six countries that represent almost 80% of the authorship, with the number of authors ranging from 1 to 6 (an average of 2.3 authors per article). One more time, Pareto's law becomes real.
16 book reviews have to be added to this record.
The evolution of its number of citations, and its most cited titles, can be found in Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=eFJUviMAAAAJ&hl=en
But it is also a good time to look forward and assess how the future looks like. For the moment, there are two main challenges ahead, once the journal insertion in Scopus database was achieved in 2018:
-First of all the celebration of its 10th anniversary, in 2020, that should contribute significantly to increase its visibility and impact in the academic community.
-Later, in 2021/2022 the appointment of a new editor-in-chief, since I am planning my retirement in 2022.
But for now, we 'd be delighted having you onboard in our 10th anniversary, and beyond. Our mission of enlightening the tourism industry only can be fulfilled with the contributions of researchers in this field.
So, don't miss our celebration and be part of our history: we look forward to receiving your submissions for the upcoming issues!
And remember: ET is a Scopus journal 100% in English, 100% open access and where no charges of any type are applied to authors.
